Ko Than Hlaing Silk and Lotus Weaving at Inle Lake, Myanmar

About 100 years ago, Hand Weaving was started to do in Inpawkhon village in Inle Lake. At first, they started to weave with only cotton and a few years later, they weaved the shiny-silk and silk-clothe with silk-thread. After decode of years, we studied silk production in Thailand and weaved Zinn Mal silk adn Bangkok longyi. From that time on, Inlay silk production became to famous. My grandparents and parents were making a living by silk production. At presents, I weaved the silk and sold to big city like Yangon and Mandalay since 1987. After opening Visit Myanmar Year

1996, I opened my shop with the name of "Ko Than Hlaing Silk Shop" Inpawkhon in Inle Lake After opening the shop, I weaved shawls in various design with Zinn Mal silk and shiny silk and served to the foreigners as they wanted. From 2001, I invested the lotus robe, various lotus longyi and various shawls which mix with silk and lotus. Nowadys, "Ko Than Hlaing Silk and Lotus Clothes Production" is for foreigners and visitior from Myanmar who are interested in it, can come and study. We are warmly welcome and we were sold with reasonable price.
